APPLEBEE'S FLAPJACK FUNDRAISER Cats Unlimited will hold a fundraising pancake breakfast at Applebee's in Lexington, VA, on Saturday, February 2, 2007, 8 AM to 10 AM. The cost of pancakes and beverage of choice will be $5.00 per person, payable at the door or by advance purchase of tickets. For further information, you may call (540) 458-2287 or e-mail help@catsunlimited.org. Won't you come eat with us, and support our organization? Or wouldn't the purchase of a couple of tickets make a wonderful gift for someone? Not only would you give someone the gift of a free breakfast, but all proceeds from this event will benefit Cats Unlimited and will be used to pay for spay/neuter surgeries, immunizations, other medical necessities, food, litter, and other supplies. What a win-win situation this would be, as it would make benefit at least two people: yourself, and the recipient(s) of the ticket(s) ... not to mention the cats. Meow!

BAZAAR UPDATE: The bazaar was a huge success, thanks to many of you --- from the ones who contributed door prizes, to the ones who donated items to be sold, to the ones who came and made purchases. Please accept our sincere appreciation.
2nd Annual "Meowwy Christmas" Holiday Bazaar Well, it's time for our Christmas bazaar again, but it's so hard to believe that a whole year has gone by since we attempted our first one. The bazaar this year will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Main Street in Lexington, VA (across the street from the library), on Saturday, December 8, 2007, 8 AM to 4 PM. We will have a wide array of items for sale, including baked goods, Christmas decorations, paintings and handmade crafts of all descriptions, and all types of gift items. And just in time for Christmas shopping!!! If you haven't finished (or started) your shopping this year, be sure to come join us. You might find "just the right thing" for that special person --- or for yourself!!! Keep in mind that all proceeds from the sale will go directly to the cats and their care. It's a worthwhile event and will leave you with a good feeling about having gone, because you will know that your purchases - however large or small - will give a cat or kitten a chance that it may not have had otherwise. We are still taking donations at this time, so if you have anything you would like to contribute, or if you would consider doing some baking for us, please get in touch with us as soon as possible at (540) 458-2287 or (540) 261-7651, or e-mail at help@catsunlimited.org. Hope to see you there on the 8th! Come share a cup of hot spiced cider, browse the many items being offered, take a chance on one of our door prizes, and know you are among cat lovers. What more can you ask for?

CATS UNLIMITED HOLDS FIRST HOLIDAY BAZAAR Cats Unlimited held its very first "Meowwy Christmas Holiday Bazaar" at the Rockbridge Regional Library in Lexington, VA, on Friday, December 1, 2006, and it was a huge success! Our thanks to everyone who donated items and/or attended the bazaar to make purchases. All proceeds of the bazaar will go towards spay and neuter surgeries, immunizations, and any other medical procedures necessary, as well as for food and other supplies for the cats and kittens that we rescue. As they say, "a good time was had by all". We are going to try this again next year. If any of you are "crafty", please consider making some handcrafted items for us during the next few months so that we can sell them at the next bazaar. It's not too early to start. The date hasn't been set yet; however, it will be posted on this website as soon as we have it scheduled. Remember that your donations of handmade items will be tax-deductible. Anyone interested in donating items to be sold at the bazaar should contact a member of Cats Unlimited any time between now and November 25, 2007. To make a donation for the bazaar or to obtain additional information, please call (540) 458-2287 or (540) 261-7651, or e-mail help@catsunlimited.org.

To everyone, Here is an easy way for you to help Cats Unlimited financially. Do you shop at Food Lion? If you do, they have a program called Food Lion Share. Every time you use your MVP card,a portion of the sale will be donated to Cats Unlimited. They will donate up to $350.00 per quarter. All you have to do is go to www.foodlion.com, find In the Community, and click on Lion Shop and Share, then register MVP card. Then follow the directions. The kicker is we have to have 25 registered cards before they will start donating to Cats U, so please spread the word. Thanks for your help. We have really been spaying and neutering this year. Over 100 cats so far . This has got to be helping with the cat overpopulation here in the County. Best wishes, Dianne
